Great shot! King finished 2nd that day. A rare good finish for the short-lived Magnum. That's Racers Reunion member D.K. Ulrich in the 40 to the inside of the 43.

Didn't matter what Richard was driving at Wilkesboro, he was pretty good there.Looking at the lean with these cars I am curious if today's machines have that much roll in a flat turn. Personally I think this is one reason why things are so messed up now.I love the striping on DK's ancient flat nosed Malibu. In 78 most of the Chevy teams were of course running the Monte Carlo.

I love those paint schemes DK ran. (he ran a similar, but with more stripes scheme on his Buick, too) He was one of the last to run that bodystyle, JD McDuffie ran one late as well. A few others. I think it's cool that you could, and did rarely see that Chevelle, the S-3 Laguna and the big Monte Carlo all in the same race.
