Geoff Bodine Set To Race Daytona 500
Geoff Bodine is teaming up with Todd Bodine, Craftsman Truck Champion, and Team owner, Larry Gunselman to form a race team for the 2009 season. I spent a few days at the race shop helping the team get ready for the big show. Jeff Gilder and Racers Reunion have come on board to help secure some additional sponsorship for this season. If any one wants to get their name, web address, or logo on a cup car, this will be a very inexpensive way to do it. There are many levels of sponsorship available. If you, or any company you know, want to sponsor the team, contact Jeff Gilder ASAP and look for your logo at Daytona!!
Wow, this is. . . AWESOME!!! I want to thank you, Rob, for sharing this news!! And, I would also like to thank Jeff and RacersReunion for helping to get "Da Man" back in a racecar!!
Anybody want to pick Geoff as the "Dark horse" in this 500. Hey, I think its great to see him back in a cup car. Its going to be a tough road especially at Daytona....but Go Geoff!!! A great day for Geoff Bodine Fans.
2009 the year of the independents

DAYTONA CAR - Geoff and Rob Amos (Waxing Frenzy)
Geoff Bodine with Phil Sanderson from Virginia Beach.
Now, there's a Waxing Frenzy shine!
Jimmy Conroy a.k.a. "The Rag Man" waxing the hauler. This step is called a Shore Step and can be purchased on geoffreybodinefrenzy.com .
Daytona Car 2009
Mile and 1/2 track car.
This is Bobby Hamilton's race hauler. It was sitting in Martinsville VA. She was badly faded, and the stainless and aluminum trim were in real bad shape. We used Geoff Bodines Waxing Frenzy to bring back the shine, and polish the stainless. 90% of the hauler was done by hand. This hauler looked so good we had other cup teams asking us how much to do our hauler. We did not have the time. I had to return to our mfg plant. But we sold them bottles of Geoff's wax, and they did the haulers themselves. All the teams were very pleased with the ease of use, and the awsome shine. So if you see a bunch of real shinny cup team haulers going to Daytona. You know the deal.
Thanks for posting all of the great pics Rob. i am keeping my fingers crossed over the next 2 weeks. Hopefully there will be a reason to cheer on the 15th! Good luck men!!
Just talked to Geoff and he will test the car sat at 10:30 am. And Geoff will send me some pictures from Daytona soon, to share with you.
Has Geooff got any seat time in the new car?
From what i understand and have read....no. He thinks it may handle like the old trucks, back when they were boxy.
Hey Bill and Rob was watching Geoff practice at Darlington, he was in the 15 and he and Allen Kulwicki really went at it for a couple laps. They were doing the slide job pass that Dale Sr was so famous for at that track in the old turn 3. I thought for sure they were going to wreck but they never touched, it was amazing how much car control they had.
Any news from practice today from Geoff or the team?
Geoff drew # 46 to attempt to qualify. He said he had no problem driving the COT. They had balance issues. And they fixed those. Its hard to compete when you have no sponsorship. Worse case scenario its a shake down for California.
It's a shakedown for California.
Gary Trout? Are you affiliated with the "Race El Paso" team at Indy years back? Also , hey if it is a shakedown for California so be it... though I do want to see GB race competitively at some point this year... It would be nice to see them at least put up a fight in the 150's though... I think you have to go to every show and attempt to race.... start and parks are not helpful for sponsor hunting... on the other hand , a good run at Cali could change all that. What I wouldn't give to be a miilionaire.
I was just wearing my #34 Suncity t-shirt the other day wondering if GB had talked to the El Paso group.....
That's me. We have some sponsorship money in place for later in the year. We will see what happens, keep wearing the SunCity Racing t-shirt until we have new ones available closer to Bristol.
Look foward to working with you again. Take care and hope to see you soon.
1st or second Bristol race, Gary???
