@jim-martel14 years ago what a nice picture of don........in my humble opinion don was the most gifted driver i have ever seen.......and i`ve seen a few.....he had a uncanny ability to win races from the back of the pack. i remember the year he won the nascar national points........how he would race at thompson on a sunday afternoon and right after the race was over he would load the car on the back of the hauler and he and george would drive off before other cars were even parked .....heading of to a sunday nite race........never even removing his firesuit.......he also always had that smile.........i also have the last memory of don ,putting on his helmet and getting in his daytona car to go out and practice......i am sure i was the last or nearly the last person to talk to don before that fateful day at daytona.............thats one memory i wish i didn`t have.........god he was good

he wrecked in front of us he had paid to bring his family down to watch him run Daytona

I have a similar picture of Don on my page. I agree with the comments, one of the best I ever saw.
