Derrike Cope on left in George Jefferson's Winston West #07 and Kyle Petty on right in Wood Brothers #7. Kyle finished 5th and Derrike 15th.

We gave Kyle Petty a huge surprise birthday party at Riverside that race day morning back at the George Jefferson/Derrike Cope truck. It was Kyle's 25th birthday. We had bought a rather risque cake from an X-rated bakery in Riverside and my secretary, dressed as a nun, stripped down to her bikini at the rear of the truck, to the applause of the Cup crews... especially Will Lind and Kirk Shelmerdine from the Richard Childress outfit. Those two had taken KP to an all night Riverside bar Saturday night where they all raced tricycles!
