I had the good fortune of being at Richard's final race at Charlotte. Better yet, I had pit access and managed to grab a couple of pre-race shots before this one was taken.The King's Pontiac and race pole winner and eventual 1992 champ's, Alan Kulwicki, Forde being pushed to the line: I then walked down to the front of the grid, saw a gaggle of people, recognized the King's hat, raised my film camera as high as I could, and snapped. I had no idea what I'd taken until I developed the roll. I later had this photo blown up to 8x10 and got it signed by Richard.
