The photo with Sunday's Love is a photo by Lynn "Mort" Morton back in 1974-1975? June 22, 1974 was my first drag race @ Island. 70 Barracuda in front of Firebird. Didn't know Mort then, we were that close in the staging lanes. We Know Mort now. First time back to Island to race or watch and the blue car in above photo beat me in first round with a hole shot win. Young guy there with two friends. Real nice to talk to and his dad has a 70 Cuda. With young blood like these guys are sport is safe. Island holds more events like this, drag racing is safe and will grow.
