Ted Christopher ran a 14.479 lap( Ryan Newman's track qualifiying record is 14.908) in a Whelen Tour Modified during a tire test for the upcoming race in August. He said it is the only place he has ever run where you never lift off the throttle. I would call that sick!!!!!!!! I can not wait for August to get here. This is going to be a very exciting time. It is really sad that Nascar.com has so far not even mentioned anything about yesterday. I really don't understand their thinking as far as the modifieds are concerned. It is like they are second class citizens or something. I have a good friend that just kept pushing me towards the modifieds and I find myself getting more and more excited about them all the time. I still love my fenders but the Modifieds are pretty cool! I think the modifieds started from people knocking the front fenders off so much they got tired of replacing them or they became to hard to find so they just left the fenders off and called them Modifieds. I wish Richie and Charlie J and some of the others heroes of days gone by were here to see this race. This will be very special!

Ted Christopher is a heckuva driver. Closest thing to Dale Earnhardt SENIOR you'll ever see.
