Some of my fondest racing memories came in the 70s watching Tony's dad, Mutt Powell mix it up at Wilson County Speedway with Al Grinnan, Farmer John Matthews and many other great dirt driving stars on Saturday night. Never mattered whether Mutt was driving for Preacher Cox as in shot above or his yellow #88 Chevelles, his equipment ALWAYS looked good and he was a man to beat. He kept Hemmingway, SC on the map. HAPPY 81ST BIRTHDAY, MUTT. R.I.P.
