Augusta International Speedway: A Race with Destiny
Well I have been waiting to let ya'll know this, so many people have been asking the documentary Augusta International Speedway: A Race with Destiny is complete and will be released February 16, 2010! I wanted to take a moment and use this forum to thank ALL the drivers from Richard Petty to Johnny Mallonee to Rex White to Buddy Gormley who took their time to talk to us and make this movie possible. This all began with my Dad going with Lester Durham to the meetings of the AIRPS to discuss his being inducted into the Hall of Fame we began wanting to interview Lester and be sure we documented the experiences he had, but then the story grew. Their were so many other drivers who wanted to tell about their times at Augusta Speedway and the story of the history of the track itself was something that we knew should be told, remembered and passed on. I am so proud to dedicate this movie to the memory of Lester Durham who passed away not long after being inducted into the Hall of Fame it is for him and the spirits of all the other drivers that made this happen, I hope you enjoy. Remember when it seems there is nothing left to do...Dare to Dream anyway
