Jeffery Coward Has Triple By-Pass

Jeffery Coward, a member of Team SC Midlands Chapter, had a triple by-pass this morning. He drove himself to the hospital on Tuesday and was told that the had suffered two heart attacks. He called me yesterday and asked if I would check on his truck, which was left in the parking lot of Lexington Medical Center, and he did not want it to get towed as he probably would not be able to pick it up for a few days. It is a straight drive, and his daughter can not drive a stick shift. I assured him that his truck would be cared for. That seemed to be his only concern. He was transferred to Providence Hospital, in Columbia, and had surgery this morning. I just spoke to his daughter and he is currently in recovery and came through the operation without any problems, but there was some damage that could not be repaired. Will update as information comes in. Please keep Jeffery and his family in your thoughts and prayers.

Just left Providence Hospital. Jeffery seems to be doing good. He says that the doctors may let him "escape" tomorrow. He will be going to his daughter's home for a while. He said that when he arrived at Lexington Medical Center on Tuesday, his blood pressure was 220 over 130. Sounds like he got there just in time. Hope he continues to improve.

Tim and I saw Jeffery in the hospital today. He looked good and said he was feeling "okay" His color was better than I have seen it in over a year. He was walking the halls and doing his breathing treatments. He thinks the doctor will let him go to stay with his daughter tomorrow and she will help him to get back on his feet. Know he appreciates our thoughts and prayers!
