Memphis-Arkansas Speedway I
One of the most dangerous tracks in the history of NASCAR, Lehi, Arkansas' Memphis-Arkansas Speedway. Plans for the 1.5 mile speedway, constructed in 1953, always included pavement. Financial reasons mandated otherwise...creating a dirt SUPER speedway. Two drivers were killed at M-A speedway at the SAME NASCAR Grand National event in 1956. The speedway closed after the 1957 season.
Anybody know what exactly made the track so dangerous !!Speed, surface (combination of both) ??Great Photos !!
