Sandeep,
I love this subject...and I have been one all along to say that I don't think those cup regulars should be allowed to compete in the Nationwide Series. But I have heard some drivers say they like competing against them...and this week we had Trent Owens (competition Director for Turner Motorsporsts and step-son of Barry Dodson) on our radio show and he made a comment that on an average pit stop, the cup crews (in Nationwide) get their fuel flowing from the cans into the fuel cells 1 1/2 seconds before his crew. That is a huge deficit to overcome on pit road. So I asked him his feelings about that. He said he hoped to move to the cup series as crew chief and needed to compete against them to be better. Hmmmm. Here is another top level Nationwide competitor stating that he likes competing against the cup teams in his series. I'm just sayin...seems like a good number of those participating actually do like this.
Any more thoughts here are certainly welcome.
I haven't watched as much Indy racing as I used to several years ago. But the last one I watched was at Texas (I think). I couldn't believe the speed on that track. I too am one who thinks these 1 1/2 mile tracks are not suited for those cars. Yes, its fast and exciting...now we see how deadly it can be. And it was just a matter of time til it happened. Things happen quickly in a race car at most any race speed...but on those 1 1/2 tracks at speeds well over 200 mph going into the corners....with cars so tightly bunched...wow!
The Cleveland County Fair had a new addition this year. It was a booth combining the attributes of Michael W. Smith Originals and RacersReunion Family of Legends. Michael and Carol did a fabulous job coordinating and producing a grand result. In a meeting yesterday with members of the Fair's promotional team they told us that our booth was the "talk-of-the-town". Many thanks to Carol, W, and all the racing legends who participated.
In that same meeting we discussed the possibilities of another RacersReunion event at the Historic race track next April. We'll post the details as the plan unfolds...but I think you can prepare yourselves to be quite surprised at just how "special" this event might become. These are some very excited folks...and they are talking our language.
Lol..The good thing, Dave...most folks who will use this app...weren't alive during that era...and will have no connection.
