Do you think that she puts her bag in her car and it flies everywhere? That is why she probably crashes all the time.
I'd thought I'd fill you in on some history of the track. Back in the early 1900s, there was a 1/2 mile horse track before Big Bill sought out the plot of land while flying his plane. Technically a 1-mile track back then was considered a super-speedway (the Daytona Beach course was practically a mega-speedway to the 1950's folk). 11 years later when Daytona was opened they pretty much considered it a super-duper-speedway (one step less than a mega-speedway). After Richard Petty flew under the checkered on one sunny September day in 1968, Big Bill decided to shut the joint down and set up shop on top of an airfield in Talladega. Bill finally got tired of all the mega-speedway and super-duper-speedway crap and finally showed them a REAL super-speedway. Bill opened up Talladega Superspeedway, a 2.66 mile track similar to Daytona but faster. In these 45 years of racing at this Alabama spectacle, the poor racetrack in Hillsborough is crying for someone to save her. Then in 2007 a group of vintage racing enthusiasts decided to have a reunion where other enthusiasts brought their cars out to the track to show them off and have a parade around the track where men became legends. Now, thanks to the Historic Speedway Group, what used to be one of nature's greatest assets is finally being restored with leveled buildings being rebuilt from the ground up and the grassy stands being cleaned up. The people on this site who went to this place as kids finally get to witness what is now a track that has been shocked back to life by a couple of caring enthusiasts. I'll try to make it next year!
Here's a big middle finger to you Nascar, changing all these historic dates and taking away the tracks that made men become legends.
FINALLY, DARLINGTON HAS COME BACK TO LABOR DAY!
There's a female racer at Rockfish and she won the 270 Micro championship 2 years ago at Fayetteville.
I wouldn't care if I died at a race track, I died doing what I loved: Enjoying a great time at the track!
No, with the shape of the field I thought it was a roadcourse. I know well about VIR.
