Sounds fantastic W! If I lived closer, y'all would have to RUN me off! Cleveland Co. is a fun track to drive.
This heah's the Rev. Jimmy Stagger, how many times I got to tell y'all ................"DON'T LISTEN TO THAT MESS! FIND ANOTHER SHOW!"
PKL, last time I checked, at the local MIDDLE SCHOOL, for gosh-sakes, .........THERE WAS AN ARMED LAW OFFICER ON DUTY...... with the politically correct title of "resource officer".
Appears to be more of a smoke and mirrors solution than a real one. It's like every politician proclaiming "I'm for education........"
Dave, thank you for your comments. Unless we pass the baton to the next generation, the sport can be lost. I know I was introduced to stock car racing by my own father, and I've always wanted to fulfill that role to a new and aspiring fan. Here's a shot of 11-year old Reise Corbett.....the team was fortunate to win the inaugural "Michael 'Porkchop' Billings Memorial" event, and the team celebrates the moment in victory lane...... L-R: "Hulon" aka the "man on the street", Charles Todd (Reise's grandfather), Reise Corbett, (me), and Bruce James therace sponsor.

Jimmie, you are right, we did not want to leave, spent most of Sunday traveling back to the coast. basking in the warm memories of a very special moment and trying to fully realize the significance of this event. It'll take more than one rainy Sunday afternoon to totally comprehend, of course, but this much is true: The inaugural Racers Reunion/NC Vintage Championship event was absolutely PERFECT , It's difficult to put it into words. It's much more of a feeling, a sense of satisfaction, and joy for the against-all-odds miracles that came true. From the fairground authority decision to RE-BUILD the track, to Ned Jarrett's waving of the green flag! Shelby's importance and significance is just beginning to be felt and understood, but trust me, a new day is dawning, vintage racing is now entering a new and wonderful chapter and being lifted to a higher level. I'm so grateful to have witnessed and participated in this defining moment in our sport's future and its past. Thank you all!
