Baton Rouge International Speedway

Historic Speedways and Ghost Tracks

Dirt cars on a paved track...........does not work. However, in the vintage world, the idea is still kicked around. And, still don't work..........dirt cars are built "looser", it takes more than a tire change.....it's an inherently dangerous concept.

Cheraw Speedway

Historic Speedways and Ghost Tracks

Since last week's ghost track zeus-radio program on the old Cheraw Speedway........interest in the old track has sky-rocketed. Lynn Ingram, owner of the site, and daughter of track founder/racer Jim Ingram, created a facebook page for the old speedway that has attracted over 90 followers in less than one week! Excitement is running high in the Cheraw community just on the memories of the of track, and what possible future it may have. Cheraw native, Willie Short photographed the old speedway recently:

Who is Building the Chassis these Days?

General

With the current tolerances, I suspect NASCAR is supplying some portion of these cars...chassis, body components....etc.
