Hey, thank you very much Perry. I remember that race only because he spoke of it when we were in NJ.
i HAVE two more questions for you. From your actual picture. can you tell if his name is in cursive or block letters. I cant blow the picture up enough to tell.
Also would you have one of these you could spare. I would be willing to purchase it.
I am going to try and have this car made into a 1/64 diecast so i can put this family friend in memorial lane where he belongs.
Thank you i would have never ever guessed to look on ebay. anyone one here happen to remember him that could tell me what color these cars are.
also what is the harris speedway car. my wife knows makes better than i ever have
if anyone has any other pictures please share thank you
I am looking for a photograph of the NASCAR driver gene black. I need the picture of one of his cars he drove. He raced in the mid 60s over the span of three years.
He was from arden nc.
Gene had an interesting rumor spread about him when he arrived on the NASCAR scene. People thought he had killed his parents for the insurance money to go racing. Truth was his dad killed his mother and then killed himself. Gene was also a vietnam veteran.
any help is greatly appreciated
If they did this and put in 25 each year how long would it take to its not the Hall of fame its the hall of everyone that ever participated gets to be in. ABOUT a year or two. The HOF is a business and has to be treated as such. Its not fair to some but if you put in nothing but the original pioneers that the majority of the new fans never heard of it will collapse. They need the recent era drivers to help sell it and make it vital. There is a lot of chatter for red byron to get in but look at his numbers. he didnt do that much. He did win the first championship but should he be in before newer drivers that did a lot more. You cant put in people just because they might pass away. I support the hof join every year and i still am one that never understood why there was a need for NASCAR to have one. There is the IMHOF which has had years without one person being eligible and some of the same people that are not in the NHOF are not in it. NASCAR and the other major series would have been better off putting money into the imhof if alabama would have allowed it. One HOF that covers all of racing. The voting ins going to get interesting next year. They have run out of no brainers and are going to have to start looking at the past more. Of course why do they need five in every year. If you have someone in with less than 50 percent of the vote did they really earn it. The system needs to be tweaked but no way to 25 a year. They would never be able to afford the displays lol
