Bruton Smith, When you were 17, you bought an old modified race car and started racing. Whom did you race against?
Back then it was Buck Baker, Joe Weatherly. People back in that era. I remember one time on a last lap I had to move Joe over to win the race. I was promoting the race, too.
Joe says, "You got no business being in that race car." I said, "The car owner wanted me to drive it. He knew I had some experience, so he put me in it. Joe, if you notice, I won. Look at my trophy. You want to kiss my trophy?"
He didn't like that. I'm not sure that Joe ever forgave me for bumping him, but I did. I didn't wreck him. I just moved him up into the soft stuff and won the race.

DennisGarrett would like to know:
#1. Where & when did you beat Buck Baker in a an NASCAR race or Non-NASCAR race?
#2. Where & when did you beat Joe Weatherly in a an NASCAR race or Non-NASCAR race?
#3. Is the above #1 & #2 listed in the record books?

Scout Honor, Bobby Allison says he won 85 NASCAR CUP RACES at tonight's NASCAR Hall of Fame.
Tell it like it is!! More power to you, Bobby!! LOL
Bobby Allison fans should write NASCAR Hall of Fame, Brian France, and Mike Helton to changed it from 84 NASCAR CUP wins to 85 NASCAR CUP wins.
