I was out of town when I heard the news at 2:27 p.m. It has been a sad afternoon. I thought of Mr. Parks, his family and our RR family all afternoon until returning to Columbia. After my return I went outside to enjoy the fresh air as it had gotten cooler. I looked up to the sky and this is what I saw:

The last time I saw a double rainbow was when I question my brother's passing and whether or not he was safe one afternoon. I know Mr. Parks is at peace and with angels, and is no doubt having a large discussion about racing. My thoughts are with everyone.

You know, anyone who is a race fan knew what you meant. Anyone who ever cheered on a driver knew what you meant. Yep, me too. The blown tire was a result of proper wheelbase and fender turning clearance, I believe.

Absolutely true, Pete. This is a very good example of why I care about RR and the drivers that are, were and continue to be remembered. Johnny, you are one of those drivers and you make me very proud to be a member. Your memories as well as everyone else's are very special and need to be remembered. Memories.....they are a wonderful gift to us when shared by you and others. Pete Banchoff said:

Lordy! On mark and on point! I can understand the TV watching in as far as the economy. Many people are dropping cable due to rising costs or as a result of having lost their job. Unless a race is aired on local TV, ABC or Fox, some racing veiwers are out of the loop.I, myself, recently switched my cable vendor in order to receive more channels at a lower price. I also needed to upgrade my 10 year old system, since everything is HD now. When do we leave for a road trip?!On a side note, did you catch the article on page B-7 today? Look down at the bottom center of the page, re: FB.
