Savannah speedster Tommy Porter will be inducted Friday night in to the Augusta International Raceway hall of Fame. Tommy plans to be a t the Saturday show to meet and greet. Come Join him at Diamond Lakes in Augusta for this event.

I miss the open trailes, like Petty had in the 60's , Kids got to see the race cars. Now days half the short track cars have too much money tied up on haulers.

This weekend Augusta event to help driver's son

I was up to midnight and it was so exciting to learn about his dad.My first car , a 1949 Plymouth , I put a tach in and I think it was out of his dad's car. Johnny Mallonee said:

Had a call last night from a man wanting to know about his dad who had passed away when he was young. He had seen the front page article in the Augusta Hearald to get my phone number. I start to search on the net to no avail. So I started looking through my own resources and found a short article in a 1963 NASCAR newsletter which I put on RR as a photo. His dad, Bill Meade was the 1962 Georgia State NASCAR Hobby champ and had made every race since the Augusta since the 1/2 opened til right before his death. The night before he died Dan Lay drove to a third place finish in his car. .We will have a happy man at this weekends event and his dads trophy to show for it.

I grew up at Speedway Park a track orginally built for Midgets and was best remembered for stock cars. My dad built the #4 Plymouth driven by Marion Hawk Geart close quater racing and fights

Tiny Lund to be Inducted
