Thanks Chase, That answers several questions. First time I've seen Bud Moore in a Camaro. Wonder were the #1 Cougar went?
COLUMBIA 200
COLUMBIA, SC. AUGUST 22, 1968
The 16 th Grand Touring race of 1968 was held at Columbia Speedway and was 200 laps on the 1/2 mile dirt oval. The starting grid was determined by random draw but I dont have documentation on it. Buck Baker in a Camaro got his 3 rd victory of the year. Tiny Lund withdrew his Cougar from the event in protest but I dont know why. Bucks win kept him first in the point standings.
Fin Srt Car # Driver Car Laps Reason out
1 87 Buck Baker 68 Camaro 200 Running
2 Bobby Allison 68 Javelin Running
3 3 Jim Vandiver 68 Camaro Running

I used to be able to pick from several radio stations to listen to the races here in NC. Now If I can find it at all it is on an AM station with limited range. Sounds like the TV coverage is headed in the sane direction. Guess it is good that I'll get to see the race in person this year.
Check out the Ronnie Hopkins Chevelle that Jack Walker just posted on the Paul "Little" Bud Moore fan page here on Racers Reunion. That is real close to the color I remember the Cougar being.
I remember the #1 being red outlined in black. It really stood out on the pale yellow almost cream color body. Dad has always said that this was originally a Bud Moore Cougar.
Bill, That is most likely a misprint. Jimmy Vaughn usually drove the #7 and Jim Vandiver the #3 in 1969.
Sorry it's not in color but it's the best I got of the Lil' Bud Moore Cougar.
As best I remember it was a pale, creamy yellow.
