Gas cap sticking out of the trunk. Something I have not noticed before.

Hey Chase, The Grand National East ran there in 1973. It was a combination race with GNE and ARCA cars. I think I read somewhere that it was the last NASCAR race at Heidelberg.

Fourth place finisher Jimmy Florian was the first to win a Grand National race in a Ford when he won at the Dayton Speedway on June 25, 1950 in a '50 Ford with Euclid Motors on the side of the car. The car originally belonged to the Chief of Police in Detroit. Wonder if it was the same car?
The only thing New Bern and New York have in common is the word New. ACC will never be the same.
Hey Cody, Is that Dodge on the end the one Bill won his last race in?
Tired of seeing burnouts?
I think this is the way to celebrate a win!
William, You have listed some names I remember from way back. Glenn Simpkins came from Raleigh to run at Rockingham and Sanford in the late 60's.
Ken Klutz was winning at Rockingham in 1956 and he won the first two late model features at Caraway Speedway in Oct. of 1967, Wayne Andrews won the next one followed by Bobby Webb the next week.
And I've heard dad talk about running with John Matthews at Johnson County and CatTail Pond (Brown's Speedway) in the late 50's.
Bud Moore's Garage soon to become Bud Moore Engeneering!
I have ran across several pictures of Linda Vaughn lately where she had different titles. We all remember her as Miss Firebird and Miss Hurst Golden Shifter but does anyone remember her as Miss Pontiac or Miss Illustrated Speedway News?
Just for fun, how many titles did she hold in stock car racing? I don't know, do you?
After seeing another picture from late in 1961 the lady on the right might be Miss Automotive World Nancy Harrison.
