HEW SERIES TO TEST AT DARLINGTON
Stock Car Racing History
I've seen them run at Rockingham. There is no doubt they can put on a good show.

Really enjoyed the race last night. Seeing Larson and Newman dance side by side through the corners and nose to tail down the chutes took me back to the dirt track at Rockingham in 1965 watching Dad, John Sears, Bobby Webb, Jack Smith and JD McDuffie. The excitement reminded me of when the trucks came to the Rock. I grew tired of them getting the history wrong but I expected it. Only wish I could have been there and seen the racing that was not on camera.
Yes Dave I believe it is the Same Donald Tucker that ran Madison, Caraway and Ace.
Dennis,
The drivers door has been hit and it looks like maybe the contact went all the way down the quarter panel. Is it possible that the sheet metal is pushed in enough to make it appear the top of the panel is straight like a '57 and not rounded like the '55? Just a thought because Billy is right, the front end and roof are '55 for sure.
Runner up Jim Paschal must have liked cars with nicknames. "C U Later Alligator" Gotta love it!
In 1973 the Grand National East division was a touring series and they ran back to back events on dirt tracks that were combination races that had GN cars, GA cars which were normal GNE entrants and ARCA cars. Both races were won by Tiny Lund in the #93 Toy Bolton '73 Camaro.
The first was the Selingsgrove 100 on May 30th in Lebanon, Pa.
1. Tiny Lund, 2. N.D. Copley, 3. Ron Hutcherson, 4. Gary Raymond, 5. David Boggs, 6. Bobby Watson, 7. Wayne Andrews, 8. A. Arnold, 9. Neil Castles, 10. Wayne Wattercutter
The second was the Pennsylvania 100 0n June, 2nd in New Oxford, Pa.
1. Tiny Lund, 2. Wayne Wattercutter, 3. Neil Castles, 4. Bobby Watson, 5. A. Arnold, 6. Roy Hallquist, 7. Wayne Andrews, 8. Ed Richardville, 9. Bobby Fleming, 10. David Boggs
This may be the last NASCAR touring division race on dirt. And it was fittingly won by one of the best on dirt.
That's right Dave and that race is an interesting story in itself. Check out the story posted about that race on the Grand American Series fan page.
I don't know who John is but I do know that most so called outlaw tracks were and are insured.
I'll schedule a vacation day. Looking forward to it.
If u'all will plan and announce a week ahead I'll take a day off. Been wanting to go for a while now, can't think of a better group to go with if you will have me.
