Open Letter to Why We No Longer Love Bristol

Historic Speedways and Ghost Tracks

Should be only two surfaces for racing -- BlackAsphalt or Red Dirt. Me I favor the red dirt . Its more fun and the crowd loves it and if its done right no dust. The tracks in N,Ga have the formula to dust control...

Open Letter to Why We No Longer Love Bristol

Historic Speedways and Ghost Tracks

I found this and thought it was true to form and wanted to share it here with everyone who reads my ramblings - ENJOY

Dear Bristol Motor Speedway,

Before the race Sunday I was excited. Excited for the chance to see a glimpse of the old Bristol I grew up enjoying. Excited to see cars bumping, banging, and punting cars left and right. Lastly, I was excited to revisit NASCAR history. Unfortunately for me and many other fans I would watch the 500-lap race in disappointment. Yet another Bristol race passed us by, and it is clear to see that fans aren't happy. Just look up at the stands, as nearly half the seats weren't filled for what use to be one of the most popular events on the NASCAR schedule. Fans don't enjoy this 'new' Bristol as many of your executives would like to call it. We don't enjoy the rim riding... we don't care to see a race where no one can pass unless lapped traffic gets in the way. If you don't understand yet... us fans DON'T LIKE BRISTOL ANYMORE.

The point is, is that Bristol used to be one of the most exciting weekends of the year. Fans knew there would be plenty of hot temperatures and hot tempers! Bump and run was every drivers middle name, and the low line was where you found speed. Drivers like Darrell Waltrip, Dale Earnhardt, Rusty Wallace, and Jeff Gordon became legends by dominating the 'World's Fastest Half Mile'. Bristol used to give us a glimpse into the past, when our sport was founded on local short tracks. Bristol used to be a hot ticket event... the key words are USED TO BE.

See when the track owner and designers decided they wanted to speak for the fans and make changes to an already great race track, they made a mistake. They broke a cardinal rule, 'if it ain't broke... don't fix it.' Designers decided they wanted a high line for racing... again THEY decided that, not the fans. Fans were happy with the racing and the show NASCAR could put on, but now it's a joke.

In case any Bristol exec. were to see this post, just know that you have ruined the track once loved by fans from around the world. You have destroyed one of the best tracks NASCAR has ever ran at. This 'new' Bristol is okay, but the old Bristol was great. Simply put, you tried to fix something that didn't need fixing to begin with. You killed part of NASCAR's history. We want the old Bristol back.

Sincerely, NASCAR FANS.

P.S. "This Isn't Bristol Baby."

Thanks for reading!!! Tried my best to speak on how I was feeling! Let me know how you feel about the new Bristol & be sure to follow me on Twitter at @nascar_opinion! Also, follow me on Instagram at NASCAR OPINION!! Hope you have a great day!

Saturday Xfinity Race

Current NASCAR

Well if you missed the Xfinity Race today you missed a great race. The top ten were dicing and swapping positions all through the race.

Kyle didnt win but he was in the mix up front all day with Kyle Larson and Eric Jones. But in the end he blew by the other two up front on the last green flag with 4 laps to go. It was truly an old fashioned Sat nite shoot out on a sat afternoon.

Driver Erik Jones (20) leads the field down the back stretch druing NASCAR Xfinity Series auto race on Saturday, April 16, 2016 in Bristol, Tenn. Jones won the race.

To Be The Legend

Administrative

Ok who knocked the fizz outtaTimothy's Root Beer. Someone whoever you are has got Timsmess kitwet. Messing with the Legend is like messing with a Spread addar, he will make you hurt yourself trying to get away but actually he is harmless. Tims Title is kinda like an old saying , To be or not to be,That is the question. Whether 'tis nobler in the mind to suffer
The slings and arrows of outrageous fortune,
Or to take arms against a sea of troubles. you make your mind up on which would be more troubling to you..if you wish to parlay with him!!!

And as far as his attire he has worn it for as long as I can remember and maybe before, did he play Hoss on Big Valley? So beware if you are going Fencing with him.

But the one thing I like especially is the "pun" Title Jeff put on him just "Cutesy" Now thats straight off the 13th hole....Penaltiesare sure to come outta the back 9 so every one just remember this is Racers Reunion

MEMORIES !!

Its a Texas Thing AGAIN

Current NASCAR

Kyle Busch pits, dropping him off the lead lap during the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series auto race at Texas Motor Speedway in Fort Worth, Texas, Saturday, April 9, 2016.

Can you believe the Glitter on pit road? The new signs almost made it look like Christmas time -- Some were really catchey too.

Its a Texas Thing AGAIN

Current NASCAR

Well Kyle did a Clean sweep in Texas, even after the rain storm late in the afternoon. It was even a pretty fun race to watch as Martin Truex wouldcontinuously work his way to the lead and finish with the most laps led --except the one that counts-- Kyle Busch pick up the lead after a wreck and as usual won it in Busch fashion.. I for one enjoyed the race as a whole.. DID YOU???

A Short track race that waited 450 laps before the racing began

Current NASCAR

The first 450 laps were mostly hohum with a few uh-ohs scattered through out but the last 50 was the feature race. Kyle Busch finally gets the clock for his house. But out of nowhere Almindinger comes up and finishes 2nd but it was a race all the way back to the last car those last 45 laps..With Kyle and Matt starting on the front row no one could out drive or out run those two.

Rules??? Not for JGR or Kyle Busch

Current NASCAR

I remember a race at Columbia back in the late 60s where there were two cars that had a run in on the track and it continued on into the pits, back in the corner kinda. Seems I remember both drivers bailed out of their cars and after surveying the damage met up face to face, and then the questions flew, wasnt no boom mike or announcer or sports writer there either. But it seemed like they mouthed to each other "just wait until next time" and we will see. Seems like I was lucky enough to be at the next race where those two drivers met again. You know those two put on a show out there trying to get in front of the other, but isnt that racing?
