Athletes?? Some say Drivers--- and pit crews are woosies

Trivia

Seems as though a Football Jock got his feathers ruffled when Pretty Boy Jimmie Johnson was included as an athlete.

True he is kinda small when compared to Smoke o even cusin Carl but you got to say he aint no woosie either. Go back a few years and tell him to drive one of those that didnt have the power assists of today.

So are todays drivers truly athletes or is this football wanna be correct.

Gilder Replaced At BJR

Vintage Oval and Road Course Racing

In one of the photos posted showing you getting belted into the car I was kinda worried there,as you will notice you had a look of "what am i doing here"on your face. I first thought it was because the belts were to short, pun intended, but later saw that it was the suit was riding a little to high and tight----kinda like a handling problem with tires if you know what I mean.

But the wall is up there for a purpose Jeff--like the one in Tn. so let it be.

So now you got the kinks out of the car the real driver can cruise in now and win win win.

Great job on the post sir and if you dont lax up to much you just may get another chance to tool around the track in a 40 chevy JMR engines Special.-------------------------------------------------------memories

THE MOST EXCLUSIVE CLUB IN THE WORLD

Stock Car Racing History

Tires were to precious back then to waist---Yes I got to hold that fabulous black-n-white flag a few times over my span but nothing like the great heros did here on Racers Reunion.

I had one I snatched from a great competitor that I now wish I could give back to him.

THE MOST EXCLUSIVE CLUB IN THE WORLD

Stock Car Racing History

It's one of the most exclusive clubs in the world. There's no initiation fee, but you have to pay your dues. Millions dream of it. Tens of thousands have it as their lifelong goal. But fewer than 3,000 have been given the opportunity to join, and fewer still have earned the their way in.
Winning a Sprint Cup race. Only one of the 43 who take the green every weekend will get to the checkers first. It really is the thrill of victory, the ultimate prize. Those who have gotten there are sometimes at a loss for words to describe the achievement.
To the casual observer, every post-race celebration may look the same. Light up the tires. Climb from the car. Raise the arms. Hug the crew. Kiss the girl. Take a sip from the bottle. Thank the sponsors. But even though the destination remains the same each race, the story of each journey is unique as the drivers themselves.
So far this season, 13 drivers have won at least one race. Each has had an opportunity to share in the exclusive club that is the roll call of Cup winners, both first-timers and repeat performers. Did any of you have those dreams growing up where you WERE the man on the podium???

yes you are right I suppose im living in the past again----- but wasnt that where all the greats were?? at the moment our greats list is kinda shabby with the exception of two or three---unless im not plugged in.. Jeff Gilder is a great one but he has a position every tues nite----Tim Leeming is another but you cant exactly broadcast out his Liar that little mouthpiece up in Dalton is not old enough yet--Bobby has a shop to run and keep Bill straight---Wally is only good for a quarter mile (HA HA HA) at a time ---Patrick has his hands full with R/R broadcasting---Jerry Smith has his race theme rolling good----this could go on and on you know---any more ??

Some think that DW is the greatest announcer on Nascar-- True he was there in the 70's-80's-and 90's. BUT so was Kyle Petty and you know what, Kyle Petty comes across with more logic and common sense than DW lately.

I would really like to see Kyle up in the tower with his true knowledge of the real NASCAR.-----------------------------------Or do you have a better choice--------------------------------- input please

100 and counting

Stock Car Racing History

All I can say about Kyle is he is a driver--plain and simple. Would you compare him to Dale E or maybe David P or the King??? where would he fit in the Pyramid of great drivers....
