Kentucky Speedway

Current NASCAR

Last time I made a lap around Ky Speedway was back in 2008. It was a late model car so it was pretty decent car but you really had to pick your groove. Man it was bumpy especially on the front straightaway. And in the turns low was a rubboard so it was in the groove or tip toe up high . Other than that it was a fun track so I think the boys will reopen that age ole bump and run game tonite.

The cars that handle well hugging the track may just beat the splitter off if they hang with passing low so watch what happens up high.

Now with that said who do you think will prevail ? Will the ways of old show its head and create a small amount of discontent ??

Or I'll bet some of you have a different train of thought.

most of the seats in the chase are filled----almost. I think a couple are still up for grabs. Anyone care to elaborate on those two?

I NEVER THOUGHT THIS DAY WOULD COME FOR ME, BUT IT HAS.

now how in the heck did that happen?? they must have those movable walls there like they do at road courses, You know the kind they use on interstate to re-direct traffic at a moments notice.

Hand Painting vs. Decals

General

WE have a towel head guy here thats a wizard with a brush but you cant afford him anymore.

The old man that lettered my cars in the 60s was a certified Wino, shakey hand and all but when the brush touched its mark it was steady as a rock. His name was Jim Golden. He was a Korean war Vet. But man was he good. Seems like Dad kinda helped him out from time to time because I seem to recall he hung around the shop as far back as I can remember. Dont recall what happened to him but the last stuff he did that I can remember was my Chevelle. Now you got another old thought running around in my head-------------------------------------------------Memories

Two to Tango? Or maybe more

Current NASCAR

Jr had an interview with Fox Sports after the race and it is on the internet. It has a lot of personal feelings about this new style of racing. You depend on another car to function. In the 400 there was a blue newcomer up in the running and he had NO partner. You could watch him slowly move to the back. He tried to latch on to a group as they went by but that doesnt work.

My opinion only but I think this is another stepping stone to the ruination of Superspeedway racing. Unless someone with guts and knowledge of what Nascar needs grabs the reins racing on big tracks is going to die.

Look what they do with those "wicker" boards at the Rock, The solution is simple. Let them run whatever body they want, whether it be a mustang or a 4 door dodge. You adjust each car individually to perform within the time or speed that is safe fun and enjoyable. It worked there letting a 4 cylinder race rag tag with a V8 and the fans loved it. But what the heck Im only one raindrop in the pond !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Two to Tango? Or maybe more

Current NASCAR

As it stands now to win you have to have a partner who is willing to be second. And if you watched last nites race there were short runs at stacking four or more together to freightrain it away from the pack.

Now this is what the new car has evolved into,a two car breakaway,no one car slingshot of the old,but without help you aint gonna go up front.

The big tracks are one kind of racing--the short tracks are the old stuff I guess.

My opinion only but Sat nites 400 was a boring race, true there was a couple of wild moves but it was two or none to the front. I did enjoy David Winning because he is a true Ga boy but other than that boring. Kyle was at a loss without help, smoke needed pushing, Kevin and his cronies couldnt do it without each other so there it is . I guess its a team effort on and off the track. Oh yeah better bring some butter for your bumper-looks like thats a new requirement. Patty hid the Pam. Or maybe some one has a different view?????

Now maybe UPS will stay around a little longer. And the Cat in the Hat will ease off on his "Do or Else" tactics.

The race tonite was not really exciting, except for the end. Thats where David Regan stepped out front with a little help from behind to win the Zero 400.

Most of you may or may not know where Unadilla Ga is but you can be assured everyone from the local cop to the drug store owner knows who won tonite. Small town tight roots and dang good drivers,Past and Present. Remember his dad??
