Well!!!! I think she told me I am chasing a Snipe in a chicken yard there. Look at it this way Jr is on the pole for the 500. Not that funny named dude who lost his razor but a name thats out of NC. That should carry some Merit shouldnt it. I mean ive almost crossed over to Wild Thangs side because I wasnt getting no satisfaction elsewhere. Lets see what golden boy does beside him when that word that Tim shudders over is said. If they run away with the golden egg then we know there is really a truth to the statement--- Lead follow or get outta the way

This is Daytona. They run for 500 miles. How fast one can go for one lap bears absolutely no relation to who can last until that final lap and cross the finish line first. Sorry, but Junior's record of late is abysmal in that category. Yes, I know that NASCAR is loving it! Their "most popular driver" is on the pole...but through their own stupidity, the pole now means nothing...especially at a plate track, where they race from back to front and back again...routinely.

NASCAR is already changing the rules of the race as I type. No changes to the plate...yet...that will come after the dual duels. For now, the plan is to overheat the cars by further restrictions to the cooling system and air hoses. Blow an engine? They don't care. This is the NASCAR definition of "saving money for the teams." Darned if I can follow that logic. Seems to me that they just don't care what it costs the teams, if the sanctioning body comes off looking well. ("Well, we tried to make them go slower")

I expect that the racing in the 500 won't look anything like the racing did in the Shootout. NASCAR couldn't have fans saying that something actually worked and they enjoyed it. That doesn't seem to be in the makeup of NASCAR anymore.

I say, if Junior can win, more power to him, but there are probably another 25-30 drivers out there that want to win as well. We call that racing where I come from...and I think they do where you live too.

Its going to be a Boggie Woogie type race next Sundasy. Watch and see,if you dont have a good dance partner you wont be in the hunt.

You dont have to be the fastest as Kirt showed you Sat. nite but you got to have someone you trust, that was apparent there on the last lap. Two different couples side by side almost and one steps out and gets rooted off the dance floor while the other goes on to win only because they were committed to each other on the finish. Dancing around now wont make the grade. You have other thoughts?? Then lets hear them ----------!!!

I know the car well. In fact I have actually driven the car when we had it on display for a legends night at Tri-County Speedway in Hudson, NC back in 92 or 93. Richard Childress loanedme the car and another one painted to resemble one of daddy's 37'sfor the legends nights a couple of times. I just spoke with Chocolate as well to comfirm my thoughts. The car was built by Rod Long. He showed it to Choc as a "hulk" and one thing led to another and here it is.Rod's brother was the high sheriff and they used "prison labor" to restore the cars. It is a pretty good replica. Rod even told Choc that maybe Bobby even drove the car somewhere, wink!, wink! Chances are about 95% Bobby never drove it though. I called the guy who has it listed and told him the story. Might save someone some embarassment somewhere down the line.

So there you go, the DA has spoken --- good thread here, I like reading these and sometimes a great spin off happens.
