Wow, listening to or rather reading what Andy and Horace wrote in their correspondence sure makes you remember all the good ole times when things were fun,you were young and the cars were unique oh and yes the tracks all had their own personality. You two gents continue with your wonderful talks as you are doing because thats what Racers Reunion is all about---- -----------------------------------Memories

Hope you enjoy it. Click on the video on this page link.--- http://nascarimpala.com/?p=344

WONDER IF JR WOULD HAVE 3 WINS IF HE HAD STAYED AT DEI

Stock Car Racing History

I wonder if Dale Jr had stayed with Teresa Earnhardt at DEI would he be enjoying the same kind of success that Jamie McMurray is now only with him driving #8McMurray drives the No. 1 Chevy for Earnhardt Ganassi Racing. The No. 1 car is the Earnhardt half of the team. That car has 3 wins in 2010. Daytona, Indy and Charlotte. Not bad for a driver who was released from Roush Racing last year and for a while did not know if he would have a ride for this year.McMurray's 3 wins are 3 more than Earnhardt has scored with Rick Hendrick this year. That is also one more win than Roush Racing has scored with all 4 of its drivers combined. You can ask Dale Earnhardt Jr if he should have stayed.

When Chrysler came out with the PT Cruiser, I thought one of those bodies might look good on a modified. But I've never seen one, but then if it were for a NASCAR track, it would probably take court battle to get it approved!Has anybody seen one anywhere?

You know I dont think anyone has thought about a body that was used in the modified circuit in the late 50's and early 60's and that being a Studebaker , yup it was low and had good aero for its day just dont see one hardly anymore on the track except at Bonneville . there are still out there breaking records yearly.

if you are talking old then the coupes of the late 30's or early 40's rule king over the sedans but if you go later the Gremlin body was tops --- undecided??look it up

More Nascar Trivia

Trivia

the first plate restriction was in 1970 when anything bigger than 358 cu.inches were required to use the plate.
In 1987 when Bobby Allison made a Buick fly backwards everybody got a plate to slow all the cars down.
there might be more defining reasons but thats what I remember.Ask Tim for a more precise time and definition because that gentleman has forgot more than most of us will ever know

The stars & stripes was awesome, Johnny, but one of my fondest memories of the #22 car was when a guy named Fireball Roberts was wheeling that machine...............seems like such a long time ago.
