#3 to be or not to be--- that is the question

Stock Car Racing History

I know the Yellow/Blue was years ago and thats fine by me! BUT, I would love to see that BLACK # 3 come thundering out of the pits, fire licking the night air from the exhaust, the windows so dark you cant see inside. You feel the seats vibrate, the ground quakes, #3 glides out so smooth like its rolling on air, not air as we know it, it doesnt even kick up dust. Down past the start finish line lightning branches through the first turn building speed every second.Turn two lights up as the stealthy black image explodes from the second turn and rockets down the back stretch so fast the white of the legendary #3 on the side looks like its flowing off the rear quarter panel on fire.Turn three is laid waste as you feel the chill run up your spine. All heads are anxiously looking as turn four comes up, never letting off entering turn four, riding down to the bottom of four everyone waits for the black #3 to come blasting out to the front stretch. We wait, we wait, since February 2001 we have waited in hopes to see one more time, #3 roar past us, with that familiar shadow leaning left in that seat.

Dale Jr in the No. 3

Dale Earnhardt Jr plans to drive the No. 3 Wrangler Chevrolet one last time Friday night at Daytona International Speedway.

I just want to go to the racetrack and run it once before I retire, and this will probably be it, said Dale Earnhardt Jr. After this Ill probably never drive a car with a 3 on it again.

Earnhardt originally said that he hoped to drive the No. 3 for Richard Childress before his career was over. I just didnt realize it was a one shot deal.

But Childress has a Grandson, Austin Dillon, who currently drives a black No. 3 in the Camping World Truck Series. Dillon is an up and coming driver with a bright future. Is Childress planning to put Austin in the No. 3 Sprint Cup car? After all, the No. 3 was Childresss number before it was Earnhardts.

Or maybe the No. 3 will never be back in Cup or will it,whats your take on the #3, should it be shelved or ---should Jr inherit it or-------is it for Richard to decide the fate . You tell me

Ok, Joe, Fireball, Tiny. Ronnie is there. He's looking for you guys

General

Think about this now Tim,true Ronnie was special to many people in the Midlands and he marked his territory with his smile and pleasing demeanor. From what I have gathered about Ronnie he was special in another way. He had special friends, yes Tim you were among the higher ones on his list but there close to the end I think he had another calling, Evidently you must have said something about Raymond Parks to Ronnie in last days because I believe he was called to help Raymond Parks meet all his old friends at the garage area up yonder, To some they are going to say where? Up and Yonder are describing the Pearly-Gates in Heaven. I have heard them described in many ways and forms but always with the word UP.Yes I believe Ron is happy now and at peace with himself, but just think of the joy he is experiencing now.Ronnie Sharpe is with all our hero's we have lost, yes he is one too. Amen

HERE WE GO AGAIN whats in this drug business

Current NASCAR

Two time NASCAR Busch Series Champion Randy LaJoie was suspended by NASCAR today for violating its substance abuse policy. He tested positive for marijuana.Randy LaJoie marijuana

The violation stems from a failed drug test during the week of June 11, 2010 when LaJoie was serving as a spotter for the No. 18 Nationwide team at Kentucky Speedway.

Unlike Jeremy Mayfield, LaJoie has admitted that he is guilty of the violation. According to LaJoie he was giving golf cart rides to fans in the infield at Charlotte Motor Speedway during the Coca Cola 600 weekend in May when he became involved with a group holding a party in the infield.

In fact, LaJoie admitted his guilt with Dave Moody even before the official word came down from NASCAR.

According to LaJoie, The use of marijuana was an isolated incident. But He did not try to hide or deny anything.

I take full responsibility for my actions and I respect NASCARs decision, LaJoie said. I did it. No one held a gun to my head.

You cant fix stupid, LaJoie said.God thats got to be the dumbest thing Ive ever done in my life. But Ive got to turn this negative into a positive. If I can help people out there Im going to help people.

Im not Cheech and Chong, LaJoie said. Guilty? Yes. Did I do it? Yes. Why? I dont know. It was one those moments. Indeed it was I'll bet.

I screwed up. Im not blaming business reasons, Im not blaming personal reasons, Im not blaming anybody except myself. I did this in Charlotte, and this is the outcome. However quickly I can get back Im going to do it. Im going to do whatever were going to do to get it done, get it done quickly, so I can be back on a pit box for my kid.

LaJoie says he intends to work closely with NASCAR and Dr. Black who administers the drug testing program for NASCAR. He says he will do whatever it takes to get his NASCAR credentials back.

His first step will be to enroll in a substance abuse program.
What do you think about all this. Is LaJoie handling things in the right way. Do you want to see him back in NASCAR?

Mr Parks

Stock Car Racing History

I have been working diligently at that with the petition on Racers Reunion, All it takes is enough signatures and to have it presented appropriately, and I think Jeff Gilder has that ability to accomplish it with due respect. Harvey Tollison said:
Him and his drivers are back together and enjoying Big Bills company. Wish he could have be inducted into the Hall Of Fame. before he died . He may be gone but his memory lives let's get Mr. Raymond into the Hall Of Fame.

Mr Parks

Stock Car Racing History

Cody I met Mr Parks when I was 11 years old. He was at the track with his cars and my father was there also with his two cars. How I know and remember him was the way he talked to me about the way I minded my dad at the track, especially around cars. He and my dad evidently knew each other prior to that meeting because of the way they talked to each other and the one other time I remember seeing him was

at the shop in Macon Ga on Broadway where dads cars were kept. Cody Dinsmore said:
Ya know Johnny, I really think he has a good chance of getting in this year. We've got a petition, tv recognition for him, and David Pearson said on Fox News last month that if his name gets picked, but not Raymond's, he'll take his name off the ballot!

Stock Car Racing Pioneer, Raymond Parks, Dies at the age of 96

Stock Car Racing History

I cant believe it--Nascar gave Mr Parks front billing today --and Fox Sports put it on their home page for racing-- I am speechless and even mentioned him going into the Hall of Fame too.. Also they said he was at the get together for his Birthday too. Maybe he will make it in yet. If the Lords a willing and the creek dont rise
