Jungle Jim Liberman Tribute on Racin' & Rockin' This Week!

On Friday night, November 12, 8-10 PM Eastern Time, Racin' & Rockin' with Draglist.com brings you a tribute to the legendary funny car racer Jungle Jim Liberman! Joining us for this tribute will be Jungle's son, Randy Liberman. We will share all our collected Jungle Jim stories from Draglist.com and we invite anyone who has a JJ story to call in to share their story with Randy and our listeners! Don Garlits Discusses Lions Transmission Explosion on Racin' & Rockin' This Week

On Friday night, October 29, 8-10 PM (EST), Racin' & Rockin' with Draglist.com will replay our most popular show to date, the July 9 discussion of one of the pivotal events in drag racing history: Don Garlits' transmission explosion at Lions Drag Strip. Relive history and learn new facts as Don Garlits, Larry Sutton, Mickey Bryant, and Tim Ditt discuss the incident and the top fuel revolution it sparked.

Joining us for this discussion are:
Don Garlits - the legendary racer who survived this event and used it as the impetus for the creation of the next generation of top fuel race cars, the rear engine dragster.
Larry Sutton - the starter at Lions who first assisted at Garlits' car then rushed to the stands to assist the fan who almost had his arm severed in the explosion.
Tim Ditt - the drag racing fan who was hit by a part of Garlits' severed drum and whose life was saved by Sutton.
Mickey Bryant - Chronicler of these events and other great drag racing books.
In our other great segments, Danny White brings us a new Drag Racing List of the Week. This week, Danny details the top 10 Fuel Funny Cars of all time and his reasons for choosing them.
TALES FROM THE STONE AGE with George "The Stone Age Man" Hutcheson was on hiatus this week because the Stone Age Man was out at the NHRA Museum in Pomona getting his car inducted! (Congrats, George!) (But before he left, George lined up Mickey Bryant, who lined up our other special guests this week!)

And NEW! Dustin Gilder will play songs from 1970 and 1971 on Hit Records and will keep the songs playing after the show on the Racin' & Rockin' After Party!

On Friday night, October 22, 8-10 PM Eastern Time, Racin' & Rockin' with Draglist.com brings you an evening with the legendary back-up girl, Jungle Pam Hardy! Jungle Pam set hearts racing from coast to coast (and around the world) and was an unforgettable part of the mystique of Jungle Jim Liberman, the world's greatest funny car showman! Be sure to listen in to find out what Pam's been up to lately and to hear some great tales from the greatest era in funny car racing! (Norman Blake photo)

To kick things off, Danny White will bring us another Drag Racing List of the Week. THIS time, he will be live at the ADRL World Finals at the Texas Motorplex! Danny's list will be to walk up and down the staging lanes and introducing us to the amazing doorslammer drivers of the ADRL series!

And... to tie it all together, we picked the middle of the era that Jungle Pam traveled with Jungle Jim and figured that would be about 1974... so Hit Records with John Bockelman will list and discuss the top songs on the Billboard charts from 1974!
Throughout the show, Jeff and Dustin Gilder will spin extended clips of the top songs from 1974k and will keep on spinning the 1974 tunes after the show on the Racin' & Rockin' after party!
