Was good seeing you again Bill and nice to meet your brother. Was so glad to finally get the chance to meet George Nye too. :-) Only downer was the fact that Wally couldn't make it, but, I'd bet he's got a full belly today though!!!!
It was great seeing you again, Barb. Need to do it again soon. bp

Just got back from Larson's... another great day up there... only drawback was not getting to talk to everyone I wanted to... in fact, I SAW several people at a distance that I wasn't able to get to! But it was great...

Same Day Bakersfield Coverage on Racin' & Rockin' This Week!

General

We had a lot of fun on tonight's show. Hal Sanguinetti was amazing from Bakersfield and nailed it first time. What a pro. I hope we can work with him some more. There was one guy who I envisioned him cornering and interviewing and he GOT him -- Chris "The Greek" Karamesines... what a terrific 'get!' Plus Norm Weekly of the Frantic Four, Jerry the King Ruth, Bob Muravez (AKA Floyd Lippencott, Jr.), Ken Hirata of Hirata and Hobbs, Steve Gibbs, George The Stone Age Man Hutcheson... what a great list of guests! Plus callers Ted Pappacena of Drag Racing Imagery, author Todd Hutcheson, and more... super show! Thanks to regulars John Bockelman, Danny White, Dustin Gilder, for making this a great show! (And thanks to all our friends on the live chat line for their support, too!)

On Friday night, October 15, 8-10 PM Eastern Time, Racin' & Rockin' with Draglist.com brings you LIVE, same day coverage from the California Hot Rod Reunion in Bakersfield, California! Announcer and promoter Hal Sanguinetti will be on hand at the track and at the Doubletree Hotel and will capture interviews with the top names in drag racing history and the vintage drag racing community! If you can't make it to Bakersfield this year, be sure to listen in as Racin' & Rockin' brings a little bit of the Famoso experience to your family room!
But first, Danny White brings us the Drag Racing List of the Week: The California Hot Rod Reunion winners, Top Fuel and Funny Car! Danny will list all the winners of the top two categories at the "Big Go West" of the vintage racing scene!

And... with our hearts firmly on nostalgia, Hit Records with John Bockelman will list and discuss the top songs on the Billboard charts from the amazing music year of 1971! Throughout the show, Jeff and Dustin Gilder will spin extended clips of the top songs from that great year... AND will keep spinning the 1971 tunes after the show on the Racin' & Rockin' after party!

Standard 1320 Group Founder Lee Schelin on Racin' & Rockin' This Week!

General

On Friday night, October 8, 8-10 PM Eastern Time, Racin' & Rockin' with Draglist.com brings you a conversation with Lee Schelin, the founder of the Standard 1320 online drag racing group. Lee and a few friends founded the Standard 1320 eGroup in early 1998. Since then, it has grown to more than 300 members, whose ages range from 20 to over 80 years old. They represent chassis builders, drivers, car owners, engine builders, manufacturers, photographers, writers, and fans alike. One of the intents of the group is to preserve the history of the "Drag News Years" (1955 through 1971). The group's common bond is a love for these early years of drag racing, when cars were unique and backyard engineering was the norm. Lee has some great ideas about taking drag racing back to its roots. If you love drag racing from the golden era (and would like to see some of that era return, don't miss this show!)But first, Danny White brings us the Drag Racing List of the Week: The Top Ten Gas Dragsters of all time! We know that Lee is a big fan of the gas burning diggers from the 50s and early 60s, so in his honor, we'll list the top "blackie carbon" racers! And since the Standard 1320 group concentrates on the period 1955 to 1971, Hit Records with John Bockelman will split the difference! We'll discuss the top songs on the Billboard charts from 1963, right smack dab in the middle of the Standard 1320 era! Throughout the show, Jeff and Dustin Gilder will spin extended clips of the top songs from that great year...BE THERE (or be SQUARE, Daddy-O!)Racin' & Rockin' with Draglist.comFridays, 8-10 PM Eastern Time(7-9 Central, 6-8 Mountain, 5-7 Pacific)LISTEN ON THE INTERNET: http://dragracersreunion.ning.com/ (Click the Racers Reunion Radio box)TOLL FREE CALL IN: 1-877-500-9387LISTEN BY PHONE: 1-347-884-9756JOIN OUR LIVE CHAT during the show: http://dragracersreunion.ning.com/ SEND QUESTIONS OR COMMENTS: radio@draglist.comWE NOW HAVE ARCHIVES AND PODCASTS OF OUR EARLIER SHOWS! http://www.racersreunionradio.com/archive.php Your hosts: Bill Pratt, Danny White, John Bockelman, George HutchesonUPCOMING SHOWS:10/15 - California Hot Rod Reunion - LIVE at the Doubletree with Hal Sanguinetti!10/22 - Still confirming...10/29 - Replay: Don Garlits and others discuss his 1971 Lions clutch explosion and the development of his rear engine dragster!11/05 - 1989 Funny Car World Champion, USA-1 Bruce Larson!Bill Pratt http://www.draglist.com
