Eric in the book The History of America's Speedways 3rd edition it says that the track ran from 10/25/1924 to 9/18/1927. The surface had deteriorated by 1928 and the owners decided not to fix it.
It had 40 degrees of banking in the turns and was called the Charlotte Speedway.

Dave the cars were restored by Bill Rhine ( Rhine Enterprise ) in Denver, NC. I do not know if he owns the Wrangler car or whether it belongs to a customer.
To make sure of what he is building he does extensive research to authenticate the cars.
After meeting Bill and seeing his work I think you would be hard pressed to find a better more authentic restoration.

I remember Terry's first win very well. Success has not changed him. He is the same Terry that I first met and became friends with in 1980.
