Johnny just might be speaking of Hawkinsville, Ga. home to my first race track that I raced on in Ga.

TMC...was that for the 'shine hauled over it or for what Bill Elliott did for the # 9 ????Maybe bothadded a "gold streak" to it.
That Schlitx Ga. Special has probably been recycled by now Johnny. Don't know where it wound up. Iwas told that the quick change was still around. This was a couple of years ago. I wish that I still had it. I would not build another one but if I could find it that would be nice. Not to race but just show.
You are correct Johnny. My gitty up and go has got up and went. However it does beat the alternative. But I think that I could still go maybe two (2) laps at MGR then I would need that relief driver that folks have been speaking of and not just because of the hot weather.
I hope that you enjoyed it Micharl. That was a few years ago.
Dave. I was a youngster at that time. Had just started as a driver. I will admit that I am an old geezer now but she is still as pretty as ever and we will celebrate 55 years of marriage this coming August 18th.
You will probably be by yourslf in calling him just Dale. I'm sure that he will go down in history as Junior. The same way that Junior Johnson has and he is a lot older than Dale Jr.
In country music we had Junior Samples. So do we really get too old to be called Junior. I think not.At least in the South.
How about Sonny. That is really a kid name but we have a lot of Sonny's. In fact my Mother called me Sonny all of her life. But I never used it myself.
So Dale Jr. will probably always be Jr. After all there was only one Dale.
Good one PKL. I agree with you 100 %.
I was just being nice by not writing what I was thinking.
I have been trying to not be sonegative but some things I just can't leave alone.
Sore losers Johnny.
Just like that sarcastic TonyStewart.
Every driver that was interviewed was happy for Junior except Tony. Boo-hoo-hoo.
Remember folks...just my opinion. You have yours and I have mine.
Yes Johnny. That does bring back memories.
Thanksgiving weekend. Don't remember the year. Maybe '67 or '68.
Anyway Marilynn (my wife) cooked a Turkey along with dressing and all the trimmings including cranberry sauce and packed it up along with the kids in the back of the pickup and headed to Savannah with race car in tow for a 100 mile race.
"Hoot" Gibson was behind us pulling his car.
We arrived at the track early enough to spread the dinner out on the race car trailer and we had a feast right there in the pits.
I don't remember how I finished but I guess that I made enough to buy gas to get us back home.
Great day at the race track.
