New nose for 2011, what do you think?

General

The bullet is right in front of them. Take the AERO out of these cars, put more weight in them (200 lbs) was taken out several years ago and take some horspower out of the engines with fuel injection.

Visually the cars are just palin ugly because of the AERO treatment and this package takes emphasis away from mechanical grip leaning toward AERO grip.

Will NASCAR ever find the "Magic Bullet" that will satisfy both the long time fan as well as the newbies that follow the sport? Is it possible? Will we ever be truely happy with the product on the track?

Forget Stock Bodies, thats a thiong of the past.

Bumper I agree with you that aero has damaged the sport and can swallow the common template but they have just went too far with using the plate package at all of the tracks.

It is somewhat of an improvement but these cars just look terrible. NASCAR just does not want any air to get underneath of these machines.

Richard Petty article from 1969 about switch to Ford

Stock Car Racing History

I am not sure tht Richard was forthcoming in that article considering he has also stated that Chrylser balked at building a Plymouth version of the Dodge Daytona for 1969.

I would agree that the Torino Talladega was the deal at that time on the big tracks. Ironically Richard never really got the "BIG" pay off driving the FORD but did well regardless. His two Super Speedway wins that year being at Riverside and the first Grand National event held at Dover.

Peal Harbor

Japan certainly made a tactical error in this attack as they did not damage a submarine pen and exposed fuel tanks. In addition, of all the ships sunk that day only two never returned to service with all of the remaining vessels recieving battle stars or commendations during the conflictEventhough the Pacific theater palyed second fiddle to the efforts in Europe concerning men and material indeed it would only be a matter of time before the American jugernaut gained a full head of steam destroying the empire of Japan. The bravery and sacrifices of all involved is never to be forgotten

Dale Jr resigning with Hendrick???

Current NASCAR

Wally, I disagree about Tiger Woods being the greatest ever. Firstly he has yet to pass Jack for the most Majors and secondly he will never be the greatest after his wife wacked him with his own 9 iron.

Dale is a very talented driver who already has more total wins than most. He is deemed talented by many of his peers. My answer (from the peanut gallery)? Yes, for now with Rick Hendrick..If not Hendrick..RCR with any friggin' # on the car.
If driving race cars ('Cup level),was easy..or playin' *golf (PGA level), was easy..everyone would do it....
(* Tiger..greatest ever..like it or not)..

Go Dale..... (and for what it's worth), *We love ya, and think your damned good.......

* lots of us....millions ,as a matter of fact.

GREATNESS----------- a word with deep roots in racing

Stock Car Racing History

For sure Jimmie and the 48 crew have earned it. I just knew that they would not pull it off this year and was proved wrong. The Chase did save their butts this year because they were off during to middle part of the season but when the money was on the table .....Chad Knaus is one of the best ever at setting up a race car and he proved it again Sunday.Jimmie is legitimate. Holding the wheel for five years in a row is truly amazing.
