If you haven't been to one of these, you should make time this year.
As the NHRA travels to Las Vegas this weekend, let us not forget Chief Starter Mark Lyle.
Peace to his wife Candi and their sons, his brothers & sister, his parents and all those who were friends or fellow racers. There is a huge hole this month for all that have passed away, but if you knew Scott you knew he was always there to help with a smile on his face.
It is with great sadness to report that Raymond Beadle passed away at 4:00 this morning. He was a true champion not only in Drag Racing but also NASCAR. He was truly the man, the myth and the legend.
This morning the racing world lost the great Tom Anderson. Many may remember him from the Wombat days with Jim Wemett and George Johnson. Tom was a hard worker both in racing and life. May you rest in peace, Tom.
I think we surprised him talking about the beginning of his career. He came from almost nothing to being one of the greatest in the fuel funny car ranks. And he still gets just as excited about those days as he does today. Very humble closing.
Wally and Bev are two of the nicest people in drag racing .. no matter what class you were involved in. I look forward to spending time with him in March at the EMMR and there ain't nobody taking our special bench at York (we might let a few of you join us though).
I wish you nothing but the best, Wally, and hope to hear you back on the air next year.
Please join us on Monday, August 6th as we welcome "Tricky" Ricky Smith .. from the early days of Pro Stock to racing Pro Mod today.
We'll also have Jerry "The King" Ruth .. the legend in Top Fuel from the West Coast.
Hope to see y'all .. Monday, August 6th at 8 PM
