After a Lot of consideration I came to this conclusion

Current NASCAR

Rocket Man is quoted in the Ft. Worth, Texas paper saying the champ trophy doesn't list number of wins:

A championship is still a championship, and the trophy doesnt have the number of wins underneath it, Newman said. If we win the championship, that would be great in any form or fashion."

Do you ever notice low ridiculous it looks to watch a pace truck lead a field of low rider, skinny trucks behind it to the flag? They look like mini-trucks at the fair compared to the pace truck.

What kind of subsidy are you looking for from a locality in which to locate the suds hall? Gonna build it in the shape of a bottle or can?

The real dogfight might be over who one day lays claim to TMC-Chase's Schaefer beer paraphernalia collection!

I guess I could name Bill as executor of the racing things, of which actually I (regrettably today) saved very few.

The only hat I wear these days besides my dark blue University of Virginia (Go Wahoos!) ball cap with its orange "V" and crossed sabres, is an STP stocking cap given to me one February at Daytona by Ralph Salvino of STP. It adequately warms the bald spot on the back of my head of short gray hair.

The cap is a little faded from being snowed, iced and rained on at Richmond , Rockingham , Atlanta and Bristol during the days of the old schedule that ran those "Spring" races in February and March. Of course, we all know that Atlanta is pulling a back to the future with a March date once again before the place is padlocked.

Here's a closer look at 3rd place Cardinal 500 LMS driver, J.E. Beard's "Flying 59" entering Caraway Speedway carrying the same Viking Tire Stores of Wilson, NC sponsorship the car ran at Martinsville:

3rd place LMS finisher J.E. Beard of Bailey, NC was a former Wilson County Speedway dirt track champion, whose father, Edsel Beard sold some of the coldest beer in NC (don't remember if he stocked Schafer ) at his little country store on NC Highway 581 between Bailey and Spring Hope. That's J.E. running to the inside of Butch Lindley and in front of Jimmy Hensley in the Dennis Beck photo below. If the "Flying 59" logo and paint color resemble Ray Hendrick's old Jack Tant/Clayton Mitchell "Flying 11" cars, that's because J.E. was at the time working for Tant in Littleton, NC building motors. He'd later build the winning motor for Lake Speed's only Winston Cup win, at Darlington in the Rebel 500.

The Tim Hamm photo below shows the same J.E. Beard in car #22 fighting with Elliott and Hermie Sadler's uncle, Bud Elliott in car #77 for the 1975 Wilson County Speedway dirt championship:
