Kyle Larson: I've had a theory

Current NASCAR

If they can keep a car under him, the potential seems unlimited.

A cake walk in Disney land ? Its right down the street

Current NASCAR

NASCAR says the pit road flagman, who should have turned on the pit road green light, got caught in the fence and couldn't activate the light. That'll teach him to be leaning up against the fence eyeballing those southern California gals in the infield.

IF and ONLY IF YOU WATCHED TODAY

Current NASCAR

I watched the wrong end of this one. I turned it off after a few laps of Logano blistering the field. Should have turned back for the ending.

Women in the Winner's Circle Exhibit - NASCAR Hall of Fame

Stock Car Racing History

When the RacersReunion group arrives for the NASCAR Hall of Fame visit put together by Tim Leeming for Saturday, March 29, 2014, we'll have the added enjoyment of seeing the Women in the Winner's Circle traveling historic exhibit put together by Lyn St. James:

Women in the Winner's Circle

Start date/time:
03/08/2014
End date/time:
06/08/2014

Danica Patrick is far from the only female trailblazer to hit the fast lane. Just in time for Womens History Month in March, the NASCAR Hall of Fames newest exhibit, Women in the Winners Circle, will debut March 8 showcasing six decades of women in racing. Developed by The Henry Ford Museum and the Women in the Winners Circle Foundation, this traveling exhibit makes a debut stop in Charlotte. The NASCAR Hall of Fame has added core exhibit artifacts from NASCAR pioneer Louise Smith, record-setting driver Patty Moise in addition to other former and current drivers including Janet Guthrie, Johanna Long, Jennifer Jo Cobb and more. The exhibit will also feature significant artifacts belonging to influential women in NASCAR, such as Kelley Earnhardt Miller, who owned cars that made it into victory lane. Mark your calendar to check out this display in the Great Hall featuring vehicles, uniforms, trophies and more unexpected memorabilia.

Please Don't Let Ruby Stop Here Enroute to NASCAR Hall of Fame Saturday 3/29/14

General

I saw a news story this week about a fight, shooting, stabbing, etc. at an establishment just outside Charlotte in Ft. Mill, SC at I-77 and Carowinds Boulevard.

I am hoping that if Jeff Gilder brings Ruby along on Saturday 3/29/2014 for the RR visit to the NASCAR Hall of Fame in Charlotte, that he won't let Ruby stop at this place.

Pool player charged with stabbing man at Fort Mill bar

By Jonathan McFadden

Rock Hill Herald

March 20, 2014

FORT MILL A Charlotte man is accused of stabbing another man at a Fort Mill bar after asking the victim and his friends to quiet down because he had money at stake in a game of pool this week, deputies say.

At about 10 p.m. Monday, deputies were sent to the Drunken Goat on Rubin Center Drive after they were alerted to a fight in which a man had been using a knife, according to a York County Sheriffs report. When deputies arrived, they found blood covering the bars floor. The victim, Jake Chismar, 26, of Hollywood, Fla., suffered cuts on his neck, right and left hands and chest.

Chismar told deputies he and his friends were playing pool when a man, playing pool at the table beside them, asked them to be quiet because he bet money on his game, the report states. Because they were all drunk, a fight erupted, deputies reported, and the man pulled out a knife and cut Chismar several times. The man left the bar, before deputies canvassed the area in search of his car. They found a pocket knife behind an ATM machine and learned the suspect had been staying at hotels on Carowinds Boulevard.

Police found the car, a white Ford F150 pickup truck, parked at the Clarion Hotel, but did not find the owner. Deputies later spotted the pickup truck moving in the hotels parking lot and stopped it. The driver told deputies his name is Richard Allen Morris, and he said he knew he was stopped because he stabbed someone, the report states.

Morris, 45, told deputies that three men jumped him in the bar and he took out his knife in self-defense. He was unable to give authorities any more information about the three men who allegedly attacked him. He did suffer a cut on the side of his left eye and complained of shoulder and rib pain. Deputies took him to Piedmont Medical Center in Rock Hill, where he was treated and released before being taken to jail.

Morris was being held Wednesday at the York County Detention Center, where he was charged with attempted murder and held without bond.

According to the varied newspaper accounts, it is doubtful Beauchamp's car would have lasted another lap or two, as it began trailing heavy smoke from the rear end just before the checkers.
