I feel so bad for this guy
Current NASCAR
I was wondering the very same thing. Will be interesting to see if it airs during today's Xfinity race.

How sadly ironic is it that the sponsor of the Fontana Xfinity race - the Drive4Clots.com 300 - is the purported blood clot preventive prescription medication, XARELTO? And what XARELTO commercial Television and print spokesman has withdrawn from his chosen occupation due to blood clots? Why, it's Brian Vickers, the NASCAR driver, of course.
Talk about a sponsor's worst nightmare.
Two months later at Wilson, heading into Memorial Day weekend, it would be Bobby Williamson's hero, Earl Moss taking the modified-sportsman checkers while another Widenhouse - this time Dink - was doing the same at Marion, NC.
*** It was Sam Ard's first win on a superspeedway.
*** Larry Pearson (in the photo) started on the pole.
I'm even more sure now that Jan's photo is from the October 1983 Miller Time 300 Busch Series race at Charlotte. Mike Porter's #3 blew an engine very early and finished 41st, four positions behind Larry Pearson's #21 in 37th. DW was running his own Busch car #17 in the race crewed by Eddie Jones out of the little shop at the old Goodyear building beside Morehead road at US 29. Might be a DW crew member... or someone wearing one of Robert Gee's #17 shirts from his dirt car operation at the time.
The gray haired fellow on the left in the photo below is Eddie Jones in 1986 with DW's #17 when it won at Georgia International. Whoever is wearing the #17 shirt at Charlotte is definitely not Eddie. Eddie was on our Osterlund/Earnhardt crew and later opened a business building rear gears after he left the Waltrip Busch Series operation.
Mike Porter's car in the photo (taken at the old Martinsville Speedway duck pond) is a Pontiac and was used for the cover of the 1981 Dogwood 500. Mike was the defending champion of the LMS portion, having won in 1980.

This is definitely the LMS/Bud/Busch Series garage at Charlotte before they built the canopied garage.
I'm guessing this is the October 1983 Miller Time 300 when Jan's driver, Sam Ard beat Dale Earnhardt in Robert Gee's car.
Sam only ran the Busch Series at CMS in 82, 83 and 84.
The #21 Pearson car was driven by Larry in both 82 races and was running at the finish.
#21 only ran Fall race in 83 and Larry went out with rear end problems.
#21 with Larry was running at finish in May 84, didn't run in Oct.
Film strip copies from the South Boston Gazette-Virginian newspaper:
whewwwwwww.... she'll probably have "sister" Nicki hanging out with her....
Here's betting that high dollar Danica doesn't buy drugstore Revlon cosmetics. Heck, she ain't even blonde!
