Dennis, really fantastic find on your part. Thanks for sharing. I have a good friend, Ford Easton in St. Petersburg who is a big railroad lantern collector and I've heard him speak of Bubba Marshall several times. I loved it when Sonny said he had won many races but lost 48fights. lol..Great stuff.
I gave Dave the web address the other night and he promised to join our group. might have to jog him a bit to get him on board. lol.....
looks like a close battle fer sure. I was chatting the other nightduring our monthly meetingwith Jack Anderson and Dave Dion and Jack said of all the owners he drove for his favorite was the "mad Greek"
oh how I wish I could go back there....Thank you for these fine memories....
Great analogy Tim, I think we all can use Ms. Boyle's song and say " I dreamed a dream" by being on this wonderful web site and knowing the folks we do and having the friends we have.
sounds like a wonderful time Chase. Happy for you that this time worked out.
lol, lightening strikes to your butt!!!! what a mental image I didn't need. I was playing in a bluegrass band one time overseas at the USO club and a fellow airman who fancied himself a ladies man grabbed a guitar and jumped up on the stage and pretended to play along with us. after a couple songs I quietly told everyone to quit playing when I did. We suddenly stopped and stood aside and he was strumming but no sound was coming out. They laughed him off the stage and he was a bit humbled after that. I thought of that time when I watched DW's pitiful performance.....
Woody, I think you and I should meet in Charlotte and do an intervention before this "fixation" gets out of hand and our friend Dave goes over to the dark side. lol......
