I was not going to say anything after what I saw and was involved in a couple weeks ago when visiting but thank heavens Devin is there to somewhat keep things under control....

I had many of those same games growing up Dave. The retired grandfather sounds like he was a wonderful human being. Dont be to hard on yourself. I was a youth baseball coach and league president for 8 years and I always made sure my right fielder, even if he couldnt hit or catch had the strongest arm on the team. The throw from right field to third base is the longest throw in baseball.
lol...nice way to change the subject brother Dave, should we consult with Rev. Stagger ??????
Oh yea, The cemetery is still there in turn 3. The scary part of all the folk lore is when they decided to relocate the graves so the track wouldn't have an odd shape they found out all the graves were empty....If you google Fonda Speedway cemetery you can find an interesting article that ran in Hemmings a couple years ago that has a great photo of Dave Lape, 3rd in Fonda wins over a 30 year period. If my puter wasn't so slow I'd grab the picture( if allowed)
Great story Dave, The track at Fonda is still going strong today. A nice looking dirt track. My friend, Steve Miller from Jersey Shore, Pa. that I've chased around several tracks sent me this picture last Sat. night.
I donated 2 large boxes of cars, miniature gas pump banks, and various Earnhardt collectables to our Living Legends Auction at our banquet in Feb. and they brought 100-300 bucks each.
I know you love your grand-kids....but give him a new one and call the American Pickers.....
I'm sure his district has to include many RR members and race fans. The Ga. 1st district is the south east corner from Warner-Robbins down to the Florida border. In fact Rep. Jackson say's he's a long time nascar fan....
