Carl Edwards' Debris Field; Parts & Pieces in Stands? Where Was Hood Tether? 1st Daytona Duel

it looked to me that the hood broke up into pieces. I think it's carbon fiber, didn't really look like fiberglas.

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. NASCAR will end its policy of providing estimated attendance figures in its race reports this season. Spokesman Kerry Tharp said tracks still will have the option of providing crowd estimates, but it will be their prerogative.
Of the 23 tracks that play host to races in NASCAR's premier series, 21 are owned by publicly traded companies such as International Speedway Corp. and Speedway Motorsports Inc. Officials with those tracks have said they don't provide attendance figures because they don't want to provide earnings guidance.
You wouldn't be trying to cover up any problems, would ya NASCAR?
This shows why Dave DeSpain is the best motorsports correspondent that Speed employs:
Q: What level of performance do you expect to see out of Danica Patrick this year and how would you define a successful season for her? Is this a must-perform year for her?
Danica visited Race Hub for our first show of the season, and I was impressed with her realistic expectations. She and crew chief Tony Gibson told me they dont expect to win races or contend for championships right away, but she must learn how to improve as the race goes on and work her way toward the leaders and race with them. Finishing in the top 20 in points would be a good rookie season for Danica.
--Danielle Trotta, co-host of NASCAR Race Hub
I dont expect Danica to ever be confronted with a must-perform year. Through seven years in Indy cars, she won a single fuel-mileage derby and led only 124 of a possible 17,837 laps. She was hardly a week-in, week-out contender for wins; yet when she left the series, ranked 12th in driver points, some people asked with a straight face if IndyCar could survive her departure. The point is that Danicas success is based not on performance but on celebrity. And as long as she remains an attractive female celebrity participating in a male-dominated sport, she will generate lots of fan interest which in turn will insure her a big sponsor. And as long as she had a big sponsor, she will also have a good ride, regardless of her results.

It was a duplicate of one done for Farms.com, which appears to be a Canadian organization.
Still, it was an excellent commercial. Not as good as the Eminem Detroit one, but better than last year's with Clint Eastwood.
The pickup truck business is a tough one, and Dodge is at a severe disadvantage. This may not sell any Rams but it should give folks a better feeling about Chrysler. I still think that the company will be dead by 2020 and their CEO has no idea what he's doing but I have a lot of good memories of the company and hope they can pull it out.
possibly the removal of low-level seating that suffers from obstructed views
That's what they're telling you, but more than that it's a CYA move to minimize lawsuits in case a car (or parts) goes into the stands. It's a good idea, and maybe it will allow them to take off the restrictor plates and go back to full-out racing.
That illustration can't be taken as bible, but you'll notice that there are no openings to the apron behind the fence. I wouldn't want a seat in the nosebleed section but it's probably no worse than Indianapolis.
