Family Link to NASCAR's 1st 1949 Strictly Stock/GN/Cup Race Passes

I meant to say the property, 2900 & 2910 Little Rock Rd. was never owned by Richard. It was owned by my Grandfather, Carl Ceburn Allison, and then my father, David Scott Allison.

Thank you for recognizing my Daddy. He was a remarkable man. Thought you might enjoy these photos from the day the NC monument wad placed in honor of the track. My Daddy, David Allison, sold drinks and programs with Huppy Wheeler at that first race. Drivers slept in my grandparents front yard in their cars. My grandma, Catherine Allison, cooked large meals for them. My grandfather, Carl Allison, let my grandmas car run that first day because they were short on cars. She was not a happy lady I'm told about the arrangement. I could write a book about all the good memories my grandparents and father have from the track that sat on their property. My grandfather helped build the track and and my grandma ran concessions. I've met some really special people through this history, Tim Flock, and his sweet wife, before he passed came to the 50th anniversary celebration and told me so many funny stories. Till the day my Daddy passed away he was very proud of that heritage. As an adult he became a very successful RV dealer and man and owned a VIP booth looking over the Concord track. Some of my best memories growing up were of him picking up my entire class in a motor home off his dealership and taking us to the track for the time trials in May and Oct. It would be catered to suit 7th and 8th graders. Yes I was spoiled and I wouldn't change one thing about it. My Daddy had the biggest, giving heart of anyone I've ever known. What he did for his family in luxury he did for those in need. Thank you again for recognizing him. Sorry it took so long to come across it. As like when I was growing up I see there are those who will always try to bring someone down and rain on a parade. God bless you.Sincerely,Kelly Allison Purcell https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.1182982367365.30007.1012406737&type=1&l=77273b2e7d
