Don says this was a homebuilt Howe chassis copy that they won two track championships with. It was also the car I remember him driving in his first ASA appearance at Salem, when he led a lot and finished fourth. That was the day the late Milt Hartlauf, ASA's director of competition at the time, suggested we make him take a saliva test.
