XL1 Tommie Elliott ? Joe Kelly? X3.... ?
@jack-walker14 years ago
Joe Kelly won the race driving the XL-1. I have posted compleat results here on RacersReunion. We talked about this race on "Racing through History" last Tuesday night here on Zeus Radio.Jack

Kerry - The race date was Sunday August 23,1964. Also, I don't think Bugs Stevens was in this race, so maybe someone else was in his car.

Nice photo Jack. If it's 1964 then the #21 of the Wood Bros. wasn't there either. But that car sure looks like the same color. Had to pull out my magnifying glass to see the #04! who was in the #3 with the added on A?

I hope to be able to update the results sheet soon with car numbers. Jack Hedstrom is going to try to find some car number info for me. I have managed to come up with a few more : Bobby Allison #312, Leo Cleary #2A, and Eddie Crouse #69.

He was the second car out for a qualification attempt.

Nice Pic Glad you put your logo on it

I think it ruins my photos, but I am forced to put it on there by people like you.

Also, my next one will NOT have one, just so you do not get the idea I follow your orders !

Its a shame photos have to be blemished with logos and such. I thought the photos were on here for all to enjoy but evidently not. Ron has a ton of them along with others on here --I just wished we could view them without having to overlook them or see through the graffiti .Its a true photo of the good ole days when racing was still fun ..

Fantastic photo Jack. I love to see a picture along with the info from Coastal Jack Walker from his segment on Tuesday nights show. Glad you were there that day to snap a picture. As far as the "logo", this is what a photographer has to do anymore. I'm all for it to protect one's work. After all, Jeff and RR makes it very clear not to upload photos you do not own or have permission to use. This is a way to protect it. Thanks again Jack for putting this picture up.Pete

Pete - I fully agree with your comment to Jack Hedstrom. It's unfortunate that it's come to this, but it's neccessary with the way some people cut and paste without giving proper credit. I started putting a logo line on all of my stuff on "Carolina Race Place" about 2 years ago, after seeing some of my photos for sale on Ebay, and other places. Some of my stuff still shows up on "HAMB" and some other sites without my permission, or giving credit which was copied prior to adding the logo. If anything of mine shows up on a web site with the logo giving credit I have no problem, and am happy to share it for all to enjoy. ............... Jack Walker

Don't worry Johnny, you won't have to "through the graffiti" any longer ! No more, just keep looking at the 'Cut and Paste' photos from the "HAMB" you seem to love.Go to this link, I bet you will recognize where the "tons" of your favorite photos originate !!
