Unique in the History of NASCAR and American Motorsports, this prodigious series, directly managed by Bill France, included some of the greatest drivers who ever strapped on a helmet competing against each other in the now vintage pony cars first introduced in 1964 by Ford. Holding a unique place in the evolution of NASCAR running from 1968 until Winston came on board in 1972, the same year as Bill France Jr took over the reins of the sanctioning body, this series truly reflected the heart and soul of NASCARs golden age and one which exists now only in the memories of those who were there to see it and in the history books.
