There were three NASCAR "Grand National" races held here: 1955, 1969, and 1970.
Sadly this racetrack is best known for being the last location for a NASCAR Grand National Dirt Race-September 30, 1970.
There is much more history associated with Raleigh "State Fairgrounds Speedway".
