Somewhere about 1955 and driver is Bob Hilmer who still lives in Dysart, Iowa. The rumor is this car was raced for two years and the dealership put the glass and interior back in it, spiffed up the body and put it on the used car lot.
You're right and I should have caught that myself. I've got a pile of 1952 images that I've been scanning and going through and this one showed up in the bunch. My screw up. I'm glad someone is keeping an eye on me with this stuff because I really do want to get it identified correctly. This driver, by the way, is still living close to where I live and I'm planning to get an interview with him pretty soon. I'm actually thinking of printing this picture out in larger format for him because I understand he lost much of his collection of photos, etc. in a flood so doesn't have much to show personally for those years. Thanks again for the correction...now I just have to figure out how to fix it!!!
