Race Cars and Pylon Planes
Pylon racers fly extremely well. They are basically point them where you want to go type airplanes. They slow down somewhat for landing, ..You have watched them fly for years around and round markers, sometimes even hitting them or worse crashing. Most are home built with souped up radials or old ww2 engines screaming at the top of their rpm's. The pilot is very experienced in how he fly's working his way up from smaller less powered planes into the hot dogs or modifieds,if the term fits.Well now look at the new breed of flyers coming along trying to master to art of flying their unique hot rods. First they put their wings on Sprint Cars to control them better, maybe keep them from flying to soon. Not to be out done those waterheads on hot boats on the lakes have adapted the same technique to control their flying machine some what or at least to keep them from virtual lift off.Now the good ole boys done went and come up with a plan to create a flying car. Not so you say?? well Sunday in the Indy 500 one such driver tested the boundary's of flight with a car that actually looked kinda like some prototype in its short flight.Nascar has said no one leaves the race except through the tunnel ,exit and proceeded to install a catch fence high enough that a car flying at over 200 mph cannot get over it. Several have tried it with only a few back in the 60's making it out of the track. Bobby tried it with Mamas Buick in Talladega . And even ole cuzin Carl couldnt get the duck car(sponsored by aflax) to fly over the fence. Ok so now Nascar takes their wing away I guess so more bleacher seats can be installed, well it did look like a bleacher seat, and gave them a spoiler of sorts. All this has done is set up a real rim rider of cars to get the speed up to the point that they gonna fly for sure. Look at the cars that were up on the wall at Charlotte, I understand Richard was up there first but his excuse was it wont hurt as bad if you up against it when you actually hit it !!! Now you got those two Bush pilots out there doing their dang best to break the sound barrier. So are we still at the races or is this becoming a test bed for Nasa being as their money has been cut and we in racing seem to have a small reserve of it floating around in the vortex at every race. Now Sundays races were good, not to much flying was tried, the Bush Pilots were up on their game and that guy who won indy just wanted to see Ashly Jog ,hmmmm...Now lets see what next week has to offer because for some unknown reason Racers Reunion is becoming a nightly show . Now we listen to the truth all week and then watch the brainstormers on the weekend. "Aint Racing Fun"
Well Robbie You got to give them credit, they do skin their knees ever so often and when they hang big air wow they in space ,in Waynes world that is.
