WHY do the recreations run the skinny tires instead of the original wide rollers 16 inchers??

these recreations have probably two times the horsepower of the original cars and if you have ever run on pavement a small tire will bust you in a second because of no grip ---the NVRA club that these cars run in have a 7" width minimum with no max. also you can put steam rollers on and hang it out sideways just about all around with throttle controlling the angle of attack ---also if wide tires were available back in the day you can rest assured they would have had them---my father used to hunt for 820/15 because they were the widest tire going in the 50's the put them on a buick or caddy wheel and pretty good results were attained that way-- hope I answered your question sir
