Wayne Andrews Mercury Montego that was Benny Parson's Car and before that Richard Petty's 69 Ford. Car now on display at Memory Lane Museum.

That is what a race car is supposed to look like not these cars of today. I sure miss the good old days.

We have the hood and front nose hanging at our shop. Trying to get more pics of this car from Dad. Can't seem to find the photo album.

Was this the one they called the "Big M"? If so we were at Charlotte, Oct.1976 (my pass said Drivers Family so they would let me in) the car was on jack stands so Rudy put me in the car to hold the brake while he tightened the lug nuts. Same time, Wayne was adjusting the timing so all I could see was the space under the raised hood. The dang thing popped back through the carberator, all I could see was fire so I rolled out and fell on my butt. Looked up and Jr Johnson was propped up on the car beside us laughing at me falling out. He had Lenny Pond driving for him.
