Always enjoy seeing a clip of a Farmer John Matthews win.

The Fairgrounds at Raleigh was a hotbed for racing. Lots of guys ran dirt there, as well as Wilson And Jet.

Yep, I lived in Wilson from 1970-1980 and we ran a Limited car at Wilson and Wake County driven by Danny Lee. Al Grinnan at the time would win on Richmond's asphalt Southside in NASCAR LMS on Friday night and then win in eastern Carolina on dirt in Saturday night outlaw races.

Dave, You may remember Phil Morgan 11A, I believe he may have ran Wilson. In the 70's he was a terror at Butner and Trico in a Corvair. He later ran a LMS Nova.Al Grinnan was tough, not too mention a POW! I have a Virginian Gazette in shreds and will try to post some good stories on Al.

Mike, I'd love to see any Al Grinnan pieces as you get a chance. If you care to join, or at least take a look at, here's the link to our Al Grinnan Memories page here at RacersReunion: http://stockcar.racersreunion.com/group/al-grinnan-remembered
